How does marijuana affect children and teenagers ? What is cannabis? There are two main types of cannabis extracts: THC and CBD. Most cannabis plants contain higher levels of THC than CBD, and THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) has an effect on children’s brains.
Marijuana has serious effects, especially the effects on the brains of children and adolescents, such as delayed development, behavioral problems, reduced intelligence, and affects emotions and minds, such as the risk of schizophrenia, suicide, risk of other drug addictions, ยูฟ่าเบท as well as negative effects on physical health in both the short and long term.
Children under the age of 20 should not access and consume cannabis as their brains are not yet fully developed. Consuming cannabis affects a child’s brain and may result in changes in the structure and function of the developing brain. In addition, cannabis has severe immediate side effects, which are divided into:
- Neurological symptoms : confusion, lethargy, dizziness, staggering, hallucinations, convulsions, muscle twitching
- Cardiac symptoms : Palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmias, high blood pressure, dizziness/fainting, chest tightness, acute myocardial infarction
- Gastrointestinal symptoms : Nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting
Although in Thailand, the use of cannabis is prohibited for children and teenagers under 20 years old, we must be careful of accidents caused by unknowingly using cannabis in various forms, such as using cannabis oil, smoking, or consuming cannabis in certain foods, such as cakes and brownies.
